Clay Capsule

Pottery Studio

A ceramic dream was slow cooked in Barcelona, with loads of effort but mostly, a lot of love

Come visit !

I am Bea, artist by profession and passion

Thirteen years ago, I arrived from Peru to Europe to study art in Paris. After finishing my degree, I moved to Barcelona to do a master's, and it was here that I discovered pottery. Like many in this city, it caught my heart immediately, so I decided to train thoroughly with a specialised professional degree.

Since then, I have been looking for ways of making my artistic practice my way of life.

Once I finished my studies, I started teaching in various workshops in Barcelona, and even though I initially didn't think teaching was my thing, I found that sharing my love for art and clay filled me with happiness.

It was at that point that I started musing over the idea of opening my own pottery studio and so the idea of the Clay Capsule began to take shape.

Why Clay Capsule ?

In summary, because it is my signature. The studio logo is the stamp with which I sign my ceramic pieces. And the logo led to the name..

To go into detail, as Seijas is my surname, I was looking to sign my work with an S. After designing several logos, I settled on the one you see here, and after a while of using it, I began to notice its resemblance to a capsule.

Simple chance, but after thinking it over, I liked the idea of using it for the workshop, as I wanted it to be a space that contains, encapsulates, clay and art. A place that encompasses what we understand by ceramics and preserves it isolated from the outside noise.

Finally, why Clay and Capsule in English and not Cápsula and Cerámica or Barro (in Spanish)? - simply because of alliteration.

My objectives

Share pottery

Because I realised that there are few things as lovely as sharing our passion with others

That you get together

With others, but above all with yourselves. Just as ceramics are ideal for expression, they are even more so for introspection. That connection between the body and the earth is key to exploring the depths of being.

Build a community

A meeting place full of good vibes, where we all immerse ourselves in art and creativity
